I would like to say a few words about David; He & Carol were married at Saint Peter & Paul's church in Bolton nearly twenty years ago and Daniel was baptised here.

 

 David loved the outdoor life, climbing, ski-ing and swimming, and.... although his body will be down here on earth, his spirit will be up there on Snowdon or Ben Nevis.

 

 Some people think that grave-yards are sad places, but I don't think so. Thirteen years ago when Carol's Dad died, he was buried in Heaton cemetery, and my family go to visit regularly. I wrote these few words then, and find great comfort in them.

 

Damp, dark, resting place,

Sleep for those who have suffered,

Memorial Stone.

 

Flowers placed in a stone vase,

Thoughts spoken out loud to him

We are missing you.
